Plea for National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

As First Nations chiefs gathered to choose a new leader, Rinelle Harper, who survived a brutal attack in Winnipeg on November 9, made passionate plea for an end to violence against young indigenous women, and for a national inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women.
Ms. Harper asked that everyone remember a few simple words: “love, kindness, respect and forgiveness.”
The federal government announced it will provide funding in the amount of $25 million to deal with the problem of violence against indigenous women.
